Concordia University Wisconsin students serve local and global communities in many ways. In the 2019-20 school year students performed 19,512 service hours!

Here's a breakdown of our many efforts to share God's love in Christ:

Campus Ministry

Hundreds of CUW students participate in 15+ student-led ministries that reach into our community to visit the elderly, feed the homeless, share the Gospel at youth lock-ins, lead worship and perform Christ-centered skits at churches and schools, minister to prisoners, and help build homes.

Mission Trips

Each Spring Break, our two main campuses (Mequon, WI and Ann Arbor, MI) work together to launch various mission trips. In recent years we’ve gone to Guatemala, Haiti, Appalachia, and New Orleans. This year we are returning to Acuna, Mexico!

Comfort Dog Ministry

CUW now has two comfort dogs: ZOEY, who is administered by Dave Enters in our Counseling Center, and SAGE, who is administered by Dr. Lois Harrison in our School of Health Professions. This is a one-of-a-kind ministry within higher education in America. Zoey and Sage minister to people at CUW, in the local community, and throughout the United States.

Community Partners

CUW students perform all kinds of service in connection with community partners such as: Advocates of Ozaukee County, Blessed Again Resale Shop, Blood Center of Wisconsin, Family Sharing, Feeding America, Habitat for Humanity, HOPE Christian Schools, Hunger Task Force, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Lakefront Marathon, Lakeshore Regional Child Advocacy Center, LUMIN schools, Mel's Run, Mequon Nature Preserve, Milwaukee Rescue Mission, Mt. Olive Lutheran Church and School, Newcastle Place, Place of Refuge, Portal, Inc., Running Rebels, St. Martini Lutheran Church and School, Salvation Army, Schlitz Audubon Nature Center, Soles for Jesus, Special Olympics, and the Symphony of Glendale Nursing Home.

Special Events

Each year our School of Nursing hosts two Respite events where CUW volunteers spend a day with disabled children in order to give their parents a break for a few hours. Our OT, PT, and Pharmacy students engage in many free clinics and educational sessions throughout the year. We also work with the Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin to host four blood drives each year. Finally, our Psychology Department hosts remarkable servant events each year, typically focusing on veterans or urban school children; their efforts involve dozens of CUW students and touch hundreds of lives every year!
